I have used these with the polypropylene extensions for my March pump. These fittings can be tightened down hard in the extensions. That way the PPL extensions don't damage the pump housing threads as much. Great for all kinds of connctions !! easy to clean!!

I have a 10 gallon pot and it only screwed into the ball valve about half way. I didn't want to force it further with a wrench. It doesn't leak, so I guess it's ok.

Have one of these attached to the ball valve on my brew keggles. Works great, might want to consider throwing a hose clamp over the hose if you are draining hot wort out as the tubing can soften and loosen due to the heat, but that is more of an issue with using the correct tubing than this barb.

This hose barb works great for brewery systems as it is 1/2". This size allows the greatest flow rate with minimal complications for your system.

I use this product to connect my braid to my T in my mash tun. They are easy connect to with the braid with hose clips. Highly recommend for the DIY mash tun enthusiast.
