The Brass 1/2" NPT (National Pipe Thread) x 1/2" Barb works well with the Kewler and Weld-B-Gone kits, or the Blichmann 1/2" stainless ball valve. Makes attaching 1/2" tubing to your equipment easy with the use of one of these barbs.

I just screwed it in and hooked up a silicone tube and it works. I didn't need to use Teflon tape, and it doesn't screw in all the way, but there is no leak.

My pot has a ball valve, and I screwed it in, then attached a tube and was in business. The connections are all tight, with no leaks.

This brass barbed end is a great economy option for any brewer. I used brass when I was first starting out and it worked great. You do have to consider corrosion from acidic wort and know that these may need to be replaced in the future.

I'd give them 5 stars if made of stainless steel. I use it to pump from my ball vale to my fermentor. I just attach it to the ball valve, and thread on the Silicone tubing, no leaks, takes 15 seconds.
