great buy Review by andrew

Good start if you're not sure you want to fully commit to wine making. It has everything you need except for a vessel for the hydrometer. I'm making do with a DIY from a rain gauge. Started my first batch today. Used my wife's blender and everything else I needed was in the kit. If your on the fence about any of these kits buy this one.

Great Kit Review by Tayler

Im in the middle of making some blackberry wine and it is turning out great! I just siphoned the wine from the primary fermenter bucket into the gallon jug. Smells like and tastes good too. (I got a sip as I was siphoning! :) I would recommend getting some extra supplies though for sanitizing and perhaps a test tube for the hydometer. My original hydrometer did break during shipping but I emailed Midwest and they sent a new one off right away. Overall Im surprised that my very first batch of wine is actually turning out! I did adjust some of the things the recipe called for in the included book. I followed a guy on YouTube Brewbitz Homebrew Shop. I used 3 lbs of sugar and I boiled the water. Im really enjoying myself. LOL

Excellent value Review by Josh

This is a great kit. It comes with lots of the chemicals one needs to start off in wine making. I did the math on amazon, the same size bottle would have cost me 30.00 alone.... I bought the kit, one extra jug and an extra size six rubber bung, and after shipping my order was 46.00... What a steal!! My only downside would be that the hydrometer does MIT come with a test tube, but seeing as how I already brew beer, I hand one on hand...

Great way to get introduced Review by Johnny Wines

Product Rating:

This kit is great for anyone who wants to start the hobby of winemaking. The kit has all you need to get a batch going. I purchased the add-on kit in addition. That kit is helpful because it will allow you finish the process of bottling your wine. The recipe book is a very useful tool to try different fruit wines. If possible, it might benefit you to purchase an additional 1 gal glass carboy (to transfer your wine on more time). This will ensure that any additional sediment doesn't go into your wine bottles after fermentation is complete. As far as the price goes, you won't be able to find a better deal for what you get. Highly reccomend!

How I started making fruit wines Review by Redmond

Product Rating:

OK - I think this is a great starter kit for anyone looking to make fruit wine. You are probably going to have to experiment at first and there is no reason to spend a lot on ingredients only to end up with a lot of sub par wine. Work on perfecting your fruit wine, then you can expand.

Happy Overall Review by Brgm13

Good kit overall. I am a newbie, and I bought this kit and the bottles, corks, etc that it states are not included so I thought I had everything. However, I would recommend also purchasing a testing tube for the hydrometer. The case it comes in is not large enough to use to take a reading in and one is not included. Otherwise, I am very pleased.

This is a good fruit wine add-on Review by Jerry

Product Rating:

This kit has all you need to make fruit wines, which you typically make in 1 gallon batch sizes. Its a good price to enter into fruit wine making and if you priced it out individually it would cost more. You need some equipment from the full wine kit such as a corker, plus bottles and corks of course. The only small negative is the bucket doesn't seal well so its only good for short term primary fermentation, then you need to rack to the jug.
