I purchased this 10 gallon Polar ware false bottom to use with a 10 gallon (42 quart) Polar ware kettle, and to my surprise the false bottom is too large for the kettle.

My Kettle is definitely 42 quart with an interior diameter of 14 inches. However most sites list the diameter of the outside as it is 15. The False bottom is listed with a diameter of 15 5/8.

So I still don't really know how it would fit. But I would take precaution in assuming that Polar ware designed their 10 gallon false bottom for their 10 gallon pot.

I bought this to replace my cut copper tube in my Vollrath #78640 60 quart mash tun (circa 1998), Fits well with about 1/4" space around the bottom. I bought this so I could start recircing. I will brew a couple of time with hand vorlaufing and then see if I want to go to RIMS/HERMS.
