Gets the job done very well...

Of all the tools that I wish I had when I first got into brewing this is right there at the top. No more worrying about bringing in contaminants by manually starting siphons by sucking on the hose or having to have boiled water on hand to use to fill a hose to start a siphon... this tool does it for you. This item has eliminated the #1 source of frustration for me, starting and, when necessary, restarting a good siphon. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent but fragile product

This siphon worked perfectly. It made transferring to a carboy and bottling a cinch. However, the plastic racking cane that comes with it snapped when I was trying to remove the tubing from it, so now I have to buy another one. Great product, poor quality, delicate materials.

Have used the siphon 3 times for transferring and bottling with no problems. Have been really careful as I have been to several brew gear companies websites and there seems to be at least one review where someone says theirs broke after the first or second use. It is somewhat difficult to put the tubing on and if you force it I can see it breaking, the siphon it thin and fragile. Just in case I bought two of them. So far so good.

I am on my 3rd auto-siphon now. Every one I have had developed cracks in the outer tube within a couple of months. Fortunately they aren't too expensive.

I'm on my second one. Yes I broke the first one but I don't think it was due to poor quality. Now I use 3/8 tubing with a little keg lube and no problems at all. Also, I would recomend removing the tube as soon as you finish.

If you don't run the siphon tubing under hot water before you try to put it on or take it off the inner part of the siphon it will crack or break. This tool makes brewing much easier, but you need to be very gentle with it.

Gets the job done and is cheap enough to have a second one around if worried about breaking. Creates a siphon very easily.

Not too careful and no problems

I've had the same one for all my brews and I'm not careful with attaching the hose. I've never had a problem with it other than it can be a pain to get the hose on the siphon. The valve has seemed to not work 100% but does not affect the function at all. I love mine and worry about this piece of equipment more than my Carboy when I get ready to use when it comes to cleaning or care, love it, Buy a dedicated piece of hose for it as it is a pain to get the hose on. Couldn't imagine siphoning any other way, makes the job soooo much easier.

Just used my new "Auto-Siphon" for the first time. It works great! It's easy to clean, sanitize, and use. I should have bought it much sooner. It takes any worry out of siphoning.

I have used mine several dozen times, and am still on my first. A must have item for wine making. It's simple and affordable.
