5 Gallon Reconditioned Ball Lock Keg

Maximum Order Quantity: 2

Perfect for your kegging your homebrew, cider, or soda! These soda kegs have been rinsed and pressure tested. At one-third the price of a new keg, these are a fantastic value! However, if you are looking for cosmetically pristine kegs, or a keg that is guaranteed not to need any maintenance, please consider purchasing a new keg. These are Cornelius style kegs.

These kegs have been pressure tested before leaving our store. If necessary, we replace the lid o-ring and outer post o-rings. If you are concerned about the condition of the o-rings those may be purchased here. It's a good idea to have an extra set on hand in the event that any of the o-rings tear during use.

Note: We have a new supplier of soda kegs. Most kegs from our new supplier have stickers on them and have not had extensive
cleaning to the outside of the keg. As with most "used" soda kegs we recommend that you thoroughly clean the keg inside and out.
Goo Gone, Scotch Brite pads, and elbow grease will take care of any stickers on the outside of kegs should you wish to remove them. Handle color may vary.

25" Tall x 8.5" diameter - 26" tall with the disconnects attached.

Keg lube can make all the difference Review by Tdizzle

(Posted on 3/29/14)

Product Rating:

I purchased two reconditioned kegs as part of a draft system a few months ago. First keg filled sealed very well. The second keg, however, had some serious leaks around the lid seal, even with new O-rings and 20 psi. Because I am new to kegging I was very concerned about this. The simple truth of the matter is that I needed some keg lube to facilitate the seal. This product can be easily obtained via the normal avenues available to homebrewers. After applying the keg lube my faulty lid sealed like a champ. I understand that some old corny kegs are so out of shape that they are very hard to repair, but often a little lube makes all the difference.

The best size of corny keg out there. Prices have jumped over the past several years but Midwest keeps a reasonable price on these kegs. I usually try and pick up one or two whenever I can if they are I stock at there brick and motor site

I got this as a Christmas present. excellent. Even though it is used, it still is excellent. It's an affordable way to get into kegging. I will absolutely get another one.

If you are serious about homebrewing this is the way to go. Highly prefer the ball lock to the pin lock due to the smaller diameter and being able to fit more in my keezer, prices have slowly been climbing but still a good value

Hey, it's a keg. Showed up in very serviceable shape with some old stickers and a nice, new Midwest sticker. Holds pressure like a champ and works great after a thorough cleaning and seal replacement. Perfect!

This was the third reconditioned keg I've bought here, and all three are excellent.
I removed some stickers, cleaned it up, and replaced the O-rings and its working great. Its a big money saver.

A Reconditioned Deal Review by Nate

Product Rating:

I have purchased 8 reconditioned kegs (both pin-lock and ball-lock) from Midwest over the last several years. Don't expect all the O-rings to work perfectly. In my experience more often than not the O-rings have a bit of life left in them but having a few extra kits in a drawer has saved me a delay. Even if you had to purchase a new O-ring kit with every keg this is still a good deal. I would recommend after a thorough cleaning to go ahead make sure to use keg lube on the main O-ring and pressure relief valve.

I have extra O-rings but the ones it came with looked ok. I cleaned them and sterilized them, lubed them, and used them and they were fine, no infections, no leaks. I've been buying these re-conditiooned kegs from Midwest for teh past few years and they are always good.

These kegs are great - they are definitely used and have stickers, etc, but are in perfect working order. I picked out my favorite one at the warehouse, and the staff were very helpful in helping me make sure it was in working order.
