Product Details

The 6 Gallon PET Plastic Carboy is ideal for secondary fermentation and long term aging beer and wine. When full, it weighs an easily managed 42 pounds and is light as a feather when empty for easy cleaning.

Designed to be strong, scuff resistant, easy to handle, and essentially unbreakable all while providing a taste- and odor-free, BPA-free, DEHP-free, plasticizer-free fermentor. Virtually impermeable to oxygen, the PET Plastic Carboys are extraordinarily easy to wash and sanitize (no brushes necessary). The PET Plastic Carboys are non-absorbing, non-porous, and non-wetting (hydrophobic), so it will not carry over flavors from one batch of wine or beer to the next and it is easier to clean and sanitize than glass or other plastics. The PET Plastic Carboys are the best choice for home winemaking and homebrewing.

The PET Plastic Carboys use a #10 stopper or a Medium Universal Carboy Bung with an airlock. The Better Bottle O-Ring closure is not compatible with the PET Plastic Carboys.

**Do not use hot water over 120 degrees with PET Plastic Carboys.

So much lighter weight than the glass carboys!

Thought I would try the plastic one since I was having trouble lifting the glass one. I do like it very much. I recommend the harness to help hold on to it since the outside is slippery.
