Exactly as advertised. If you don't want to mess with a conventional thermometer this is the gadget. Easy to use and compact. Seems to be accurate. You can use it to take the temp of anything. Just point it at the object and push the button. Ice...31 degrees, boiling water....212 degrees, body temp.....98.6
