Fantastic beer! Review by epbrewer

Have brewed this 3 times this year and love it! Has turned out perfect each time following instructions exactly, and using the dry yeast. Carbonation came out perfect every time. Second batch I used a hop bag, which I will never do again as it really muted the great hops flavor. A great beer, especially for summer time. So far is my favorite beer kit.

My brother and I both made this kit and bottle-conditioned it for two weeks before we drank the first one. The beer was amazing, extremely drinkable and a great session beer. ours were gone before we knew it! I highly recommend this as a first attempt at pale ales.

I just tapped my first keg of Amarillo Pale Ale and it is a big hit with both my neighbor and me. I used the Wyeast 1332 and brewed just like the directions. The hops give it a rather unique taste. I am sure this will be a repeat brew for me.

Brewed as my second batch, came out absolutely incredible! Very forgiving recipe. After 1 week in primary and 2 in secondary, tasted as if aged for a month - very well balanced. Amarillo hops lends a great citrusy flavor, fantastic summer refreshment. Strongly recommend the Wyeast Activator - great taste!

First Time Brewing Review by Dan

Product Rating:

After tasting this beer I am hooked on homebrewing and the Amarillo Hop. The hops are in perfect balance to the sweet undertones of the malt. Flavor is very close to an IPA, I enjoyed this with some Indian food and it was a perfect match to spice and heat of the food. This beer will always be in my collection! Great Job Midwest putting this one together!!

This was my first brew, very easy and very forgiving. I enjoyed drinking this brew as much as I did making it. Myself and everyone else who I gave a bottle to loved it, and I will be brewing this again later on down the road. Almost taste like a Yuengling and Sam Adams combined, but better. :)

I Brewed this 2 months ago, and it came out wonderful, the only thing I did different was added 1 extra ounce of amarillo with 10 minutes left and dry hopped 1 ounce for 1 week. Strong, citrusy amarillo taste, which is what I love. This is a great kit.

Like all of MW kits I have to modify them to suit my tastes, after brewing once the following changes make up an exceptional beer. Added 3/4 corn sugar after initial boil, used "Safale US-05 (11.5 grams)" resulting in cleaner crisper flavor, dry hopped in the secondary 1oz amarillo hops for 1.5 weeks.
