TASTY Review by GARVEY

(Posted on 8/5/14)

Product Rating:

This has become my favorite beer. It has just the right amount of hoppy flavor with a touch of citrus. 2 weeks in the primary then 2 weeks in the secondary using Wyeast. I keg my brew, carbonating 24hrs @40psi then 24hrs @20psi.
Truly is a good beer.

Good but not the best Review by Mazaklr

Product Rating:

A solid beer, nice color, came out nice and clear, not too hoppy. I think mine came out a little darker than expected. I ended up with close to a 5%ABV on this which I thought was a little low but I think my gravity numbers came out a little low all together on this batch. Overall a good beer if you want to try something a little different from the fantastic IPA's that Midwest has to offer.

Product Rating:

Pretty much as described. More of a copper color than blond, but the taste description is right on. Reminds me of Sweetwater 420.. Great beer kit. Primary 1.25 weeks, Secondary 1.25 weeks, bottle condition 2.5-3 weeks.

very good IPA Review by OHara

Product Rating:

This was one of my first kits and it turned out very nice. I used the Wyeast yeast and it was ready in a week. Maybe I kegged it too soon, but the final gravity had reached its specified number. The IPA is really good.

After reading several previous reviews that suggested using more hops, I thought that I would try adding the ones that came with the kit on a different schedule. The recipe said to add the Amarillo hops after 40 minutes of boiling. I added them after 20 minutes and the 2nd ounce with 2 minutes to go instead of after the boil was finished. It is still pretty mild compared to IPA's, but fits the profile and is tasty. This would be a good "between beer" for those who are not quite ready for the full slap in the face of an IPA. I've added it to my list of those to do again.

Great beer! Review by Jord

Product Rating:

This is an excellent beer, a cross between a pale ale and an IPA. Everyone loved it, has enough hops to keep the hop heads satisfied but tame enough that BMC drinkers are asking for me.

Followed directions exactly. Just tried my first bottle and it was great. I will definitely remember this kit for my next batch.

For anyone that likes a clean, citrusy American Pale Ale, this is a must try beer! Review by MarkR

Product Rating:

A shockingly good Pale Ale that has become a favorite. I had never used the Amarillo hop before and the result was something this C-hop lover really liked. In fact, this brew was so good that a non-brewing friend decided to take up the hobby and made this as his first batch. I’ve used Safale dry yeast the White Labs with little discernable difference, really—get the dry yeast and pitch from a 1000+ml starter. For anyone that likes a clean, citrusy American Pale Ale, this is a must try beer!

Exactly what it says Review by APfromNJ

Product Rating:

This was my 5th brew kit, came out great. It tastes exactly how they said it does and it smells wonderful. Flowery, citrusy and hoppy. I tried it because the hops were unique from the northwest. Came out in a nice copper color and great carbonation, after my 10 days in primary, 10 days in secondary and 2 weeks in the bottle getting ready. Bottled in 22 oz bottles, so I finished two the night they were ready to drink. Can't wait to share them out for feedback. You pour this in a glass and it looks like it came fresh from the tap!

Big Taste Review by jnobfan

Product Rating:

This is about my 10th kit. I make notes each time and have begun tweaking so for this one I used the White Labs and added 1/2oz of Cascade Hops with the Amarillo hops and than dry hopped 1oz of Simcoe in 2nd stage.I like really big taste and big bouquet and this was the bomb.
