Let Sit for a year Review by Katie

(Posted on 10/5/14)

Product Rating:

Brewed this beer in October of 2013. Used the cheap yeast and did not add anything to the recipe. Had some pretty funky flavors at first try. Just tried it again 9/05/14 it is much better and it is actually drinkable.

additional flavoring? Review by saluki26

Product Rating:

I purchased two of these kits and have brewed one already. I used a gallon of frozen cider to bring down the temperature instead of using a wort chiller. It worked great. Has anyone added anything besides apple juice/cider to the recipe like another fruit? I was thinking something like a blackberry, raspberry or cherry in the secondary.

Apple's away Review by Bushyboy

Product Rating:

This is by far the best apple ale kit I have ever purchased. Everyone loves my apple ale brew. Has a thick apple juice color and the taste is amazing. This is usually one of the kits on my must get list.

let it sit Review by madbrewer

Product Rating:

so with this beer after the boil i added 2 gallons of apple juice to the wort to finish off the 5 gallons. after 3 weeks in the bottle I tried it. not great in my opinion or my wife's. so I just left it in my basement kind of forgot about it until now which was about 7 months of time and decided to try it again and wow did it make a complete turnaround. really actually like it now. so if you can let it sit.

Easy to make, but just Ok Review by JD

(Posted on 12/19/13)

Product Rating:

I made this beer using the dry yeast and the apple extract that came with it.
Maybe it's the malt extract but I was surprised at how thick this beer seems. The beer has a hint of residual apple taste after a swallow. Friends tell me it's pretty good, but rarely do they want a 2nd. I would suggest using real Apple Cider next time.

Easy and Good! Review by Matt

Product Rating:

Simple batch to brew up. Fermentation was slow at first but once I reached the step of adding the apple cider (warmed to room temp) the fermentation took off like crazy. All said and done 3 weeks later it was in the keg and about a week later was awesome and super easy to drink!

just average Review by Chris

(Posted on 10/20/13)

Product Rating:

Instead of the extract I used a couple of quarts of apple cider that I added to the secondary along with a quarter of the extract. The beer is average. Friends will have one glass but not two, and I feel the same way. I enjoyed making the beer though.

Light and Delicious Review by AHECK

Product Rating:

We brewed this kit according to directions and were happy with the results. The apple flavor is certainly light. To be honest, I am not sure you would know it is apple unless told. None the less, it turned out tasty.
