Australian Shiraz (Selection International)

$119.99

Product Number: 6198

Availability: In stock

The grape that was made for Down Under - its hot climate is perfect for bringing out the best traits in this popular grape varietal. Australian Shiraz is seductively delicious, with startlingly rich, ripe aromas that deliver right through to the full zesty finish. Amazingly, the style allows for polished tannins early, so the young wine is not rough or harsh. The aged version retains the core fruit flavors of plums, cherries and blackberries, but gains extra polish.

A very good wine kit. I like all of the berry/fruit flavors this one provides. It's aroma is nice too. Let it bottle in a while as aging improves this one quite a bit.

One of the best wines I've made. Let it age 2 years to get the best out of it. The taste is rich and full. Try this one , you won't be disappointed.

As the above reviews say it's tough to wait for this wine. I put a 2 year old bottle into competition last week and took best of show over 150 entrants. Make a batch and have the patients to wait it's well worth it.

but you do have to wait for it to age a bit. This was my first batch ever - couldn't wait. The young wine was good, but had a bit of an off flavor. I drank the last 2 bottles about 6 months in and the "off flavor" matured and integrated into the wine giving a full, rich taste. If only I had waited at least 6 months before popping the first cork. I'm going to order this again - and this time I will wait at least 6 months. I bet it will be even better at a year or two, as long as you put in enough metabisulphite.

We have been making wine for two years now. Of the 8 batches made so far, this is by far the best of the bunch. It takes will power to not drink all of it in the first several months, but wait at least 6 months if you can.....worth the wait!
