The hot Australian climate produces Riesling grapes with a much thicker skin than those grown in Germany producing flavors of citrus fruit and notes of lemon marmalade. It's lively golden hue reveals a combination of floral notes and apple crispness with perfumed headiness of lychee, rose petals, and hints of passion fruit. The long finish and medium body make this a great wine for spring.

I've used this kit twice to make payments, splitting the batch both times to make Traminer Riesling Pyment and Cherry Traminer Riesling Pyment. The tropical fruit flavors from this wine base really come through and give the meads something special in the nose and palate. Lovely.

Bottled this in late 2011 and I added a 1/4 cup light roasted oak chips to the primary. Only have 2 bottles left and it only gets better with age. My favorite white so far, starting my next batch.
