This part will not work on STANDARD sized 5/16 gas line that most kegerator Co2 manifolds use. I found out that other websites sell this part with properly sized 5/16 barb already attached. IF YOU BUY THIS YOU WILL HAVE TO GET AN ADAPTER TO HOOK UP TO A STANDARD KEGERATOR GAS LINE.

To the above reviewer, the part is a Gas Disconnect, 1/4" Barbed. Don't buy a 1/4' inch barb connect if you need a 5/16".

I use these for my custom gass lines with 1/4 vinyl tubing. Works fine.
One trick though is to twist the conenctor slightly as you push it on... the disconnect uses ball bearings, and it helps engage them better if there is some spin when you put them on and off. I recommend a slight twist.
Also, I always make sure there is a bit of food safe lube on the rubber gasket on the keg where these attach.

I know, gas disconnects aren't sexy, but what can you say about them.
They are priced right and do what they need to do.
It's not necessary to waste your time hunting around...order these and be happy!

These are decent quality gas connects, No issues when they are hooked up but about half of mine have slow leaks when disconnected and gas is on. With that in mind a valve assembly for each line is necessary if you don't always have them hooked to a keg. The Poppets are plastic with a standard oring that is replaceable. The Barb is a true 1/4 so 3/16 will fit if the hose is pliable enough and 1/4 is a no brainier. I Do not believe 5/16 will work reliably even with hose clamps. The Barb appears to be stainless as i haven't noticed any loss in the surface condition. Current brand as of this review is CMB.
