My friends are telling me to brew this one again. The keg is not going to last long. Use the White Labs yeast. The only thing I would change is the name. I would call it "12 Pound Brown".

Brews up nicely and is a good solid easy drinking beer. I'm not a beer snob, I just like beer and I really like this one. Always one of my fastest draining kegs.

I like Sebago Boathouse Brown ( http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2407/2854/ )...it's not my favorite beer, but we go to their pub pretty often and I almost always have one and this MW kit sounded similar. Well, in my opinion this is much better BUT it took a good 8 weeks in the bottle to get really good. Prior to that it seemed too "sweet". I highly recommend this as a more full-flavored brown than Boathouse (and a little hoppier without being hoppy). My brother, a stout fan/brewer, said "this may be the best beer you've made yet" (out of 13 batches)...so I'll take that as a 3rd party endorsement! Try it!

After leaving my grains sitting about two months I didn't know what to expect with this brew. I was a little low on the OG, but the beer came out smooth and tasty. Malty with just a slightly bitter hop finish. It poured a clear amber color with a thick tan head. I have had it in the keg for about a week now and I think it is really good.

I use the White Labs British Ale #005 yeast, and it came out well.
Brown ales benefit from a little aging so I waited 2 months before drinking, and we all liked it.

It was the very first time I was brewing on my own equipment, and it was 34 degrees F outside, so things were bound to go wrong. I was a gallon under, and completely forgot to check for OG. Fermentation was also an issue due to outside temperatures, so it took 3+ days to start bubbling.
After all is said and done and the beer is kegged, there is a lot of flavor, so I really want to give this another shot to see how far off I really got. Hard to beat this price point though!
