A Work in Progress!

I brewed this beer on Sunday (4-29-12). I plugged all the ingredients into my Beer Smith II software and the parameters of this recipe met the style guides for Blonde Ale in the software. The only difference was that the software called for a two step sparge instead of a single step. I had a slightly larger volume that what was called for in the end. I had about 5.5 gallons of wort. The software calculated an OG of 1.055 and I came out with 1.040. In less than 24 hours the fermenter is rocking! The only thing I would like to see different with this kit is the flaked oats are mixed in with the rest of the grain bill. I am thinking that I would have rather not ran the flaked oats through the grain mill with the rest of the grains. Other than that I like this kit so far. Oh, I purchased the kit with Wyeast liquid yeast. I like this the best!

I'm a batch sparger and just added another pound of base grain and this turned out awesome. A great house beer. Second batch is already in the primary. Strongly recommend.

This was my first brew, and it came out amazing. With this recipe, and the help of Brewsmith 2.0, I was able to efficiently produce a brew that I could enjoy...and without screwing up! I only used 4.15 oz of corn sugar instead of the full 5 just to avoid bottle bombs, and it turned out great.

This is quite possibly the best beer I've ever brewed or consumed. I recommend it to absolutely anyone, whether you like dark beers or light, lagers or ales, you simply can not go wrong with this beer! Will be making for a the fourth time again this month!!

Brewed this as a my first all-grain batch years ago. Since then I've brewed it 2-3 more times. Every time it has turned out great. It's one I've shared a lot, and I've never gotten a negative remark.
It's too good for being so easy to brew.
