Don't mess around get one! Review by Brewer

(Posted on 9/28/11)

Product Rating:

This kettle is worth every penny by far, it's the main equipment for any brewer so why settle for anything but the best?
So far I only brew five gallon batches but the extra head space allows me to walk away for a bit with out the worry of a boil over ... I love the built in thermometer it's easy to read and accurate with no need to hold one over your hot wert... Not to mention the valve... Making pouring your wert into your bucket or carboy a snap.. I hooked up a quick connect on a high temp hose and now all I do is connect and open the valve.. Boom my carboy is full... Plus its easy to clean.. Don't mess around get one! highly recommend !

Product Rating:

Blichmann pots are great! The dip tube reduces waste at the bottom of the pot to a .13 of a gallon! Thermometer is great! Using this pot with the quick disconnects make it a breeze to fill it up with water or empty out your wort.

I've been using a 10 gallon BoilerMaker for more than a year now and love it! I've done dozens of all grain brews and use the BoilerMaker as my boil kettle. The thermometer is easy to use, the site gauge is indispensable for my brew day. The valve and dip tube works great too. My kettle has held up and still looks like it is new.

The Ferrari of Brew Kettles... Review by Jeff

Product Rating:

Blichmann Eng is known for their build quality and attention to detail. These kettle's were not over-looked ! I have a 10 gallon kettle, and could not be happier. I looked at numerous other brands & styles. I was hesitant at first about "Pulling The Trigger" on such a fancy / expensive kettle for my first brew kettle... but I finally did, and I could not be happier! The kettle evenly distributes the heat, and I have not noticed any hot-spots at all. Blichmann didn't forget any detail, when it comes to options. The sight glass is wonderful, and a must have for me now! No more having to use a measuring cup / pitcher, to measure out water. I was curious how well the flexible thermometer would work, along with it's accuracy, since it has a flexible neck. After a quick calibration, it was right on the money, when verified against my ThermaPen. Lastly, there is nothing better then a ball-valve setup, when transferring your wort out of the brew kettle. I run mine from my kettle, straight to my plate chiller. I can control the flow with just a slight adjustment to the valve. I am asking Santa for the false bottom for X-Mas, let's hope I've been good! I just can't say enought about this kettle. If you are on the fence about purchasing one, or in the neighborhood for an upgrade... Don't think about it! BUY IT! You won't be sorry. I am going to be buying two more eventually, for an electric setup. A++ product!

Expensive but high quality Review by Tom

Product Rating:

Makes my brewday easier. This pot comes with premium extras:

1 - expensive adjustable thermometer

2 - Quality sight gauge that had metal protection.

3 - Quality dip tube

If you price them individually, and add in shipping, they cost a lot over a base pot with a ball valve.

Superior quality Review by Jon

Product Rating:

It's a great pot. Its tall and narrow compared to the megapot, so it evaporates less, and more wort is touching your immersion chiller.
The diptube is excellent and would cost you over $30 with shipping if purchased separately. The sight gauge wont break because its got a shield. It comes with a heat shield too.

First Rate Kettle Review by Revis

Product Rating:

While it's expensive, when you consider the pot's quality and additional components, it's not as pricey as it seems.
Its a better quality pot, well constructed, and taller rather than squatter. Its got better components that cheaper pots.
Plus it's a lot more fun to use than a bare bones pot.

Conside the price of the individual pieces.
The Bremometer is 70+
The Dip tube is 35ish
The Ball Valve is also 35ish
The Site gauge glass and shield would be 75 ish.
So the pot is closer to 190, and I think it's better than other pots.

Amazing Pot Review by Nathan

Product Rating:

I upgraded from a small 2 gallon pot I used on the stove to this one and could not be happier. This pot is the creme de le creme of pots. I never had to worry about boil over or leaks. The only thing that I could complain about is the lock on the valve and that is only because it gets too hot to touch so I needed pliers to pull it up to open the valve. Nothing huge by any means, because I would rather have the valve locked than bump it during brewing and pour wort all over the floor. Like the other reviews said, "Don't think about it, BUY it!"

Product Rating:

I only brew 5 gal batches, so the 10 gal pot is all I need. I just brewed my 1st batch in it and i'm really happy with it. The temp gauge, sight glass and heavy duty valve make this a really nice pot to brew with. It also cleans up really easy.
