I'm a big fan of Bass so I gave this one a try. Finished product was excellent. In a side-by-side comparison with real Bass it was much darker but tasted nearly identical. If you do a full 5 gallon boil like I do, try steeping specialty grains for only 10 minutes or so and perhaps adding half of the DME toward the end of the boil to lighten it up a few shades.

This was my first Ale and 2nd beer kit overall to make. It turned out very well and was impressed with the flavor and speed to get from boil to keg to my glass. Though I was a little anxious, this beer tasted great after only 20days of age. I'm leaving it go a couple more weeks in the corny keg on low PSI and trying samples periodically to monitor subtle changes.
It does seem very similar to Bass out of the bottle but I like the flavor of this clone better. So much so, that I have another kit waiting to be made because this one surely won't last long in the keg once its go time!

This was the fist batch of beer I ever brewed. My "Greenhorn" mistakes were masked pretty well. I used almost a gallon less water than it calls for which might have made the flavor stronger, but its still delicious. I chilled the wort right over ice (dangerous, I know) but the beer is super clear with a nice head. Nice easy beer to brew for a kegging syetem. Saving a case to try in a few weeks, so we will see how it develops.

My first ever and I have to say I am very pleased. I love Bass Ale, and this was even better! Easy to brew, just the right bite in that first sip! Perfect after a long hot day, and very popular with friends and family. I am now watching my Autumn Amber Ale like a newborn baby, and looking forward to trying the Golden Ticket RyePA!

First clone kit, worked great; kit was easy. I'll stick with the Wyeast option as it worked well. 1 week fermentation, 2 week rack, min 2 week bottle. Clear in bottle but did encounter chill haze for first time. Tastes great and gets better with time. Full head by week three. First time I brought to a party and it was enjoyed by all.

I've been brewing off and on for a few years and have avoided the clone kits since why would I make what I can more easily just buy ready to go. For some strange reason, I broke this rule and got the Brass Ale kit. The result was exceptional. Didn't taste like any Bass Ale I ever had ~ it was so much better (and I like Bass)! I used a two stage fermentation and left it in the secondary for about a month. (not by design, am short on bottles and had to finish up the previous batch). I tried the first bottle after about two weeks, was pretty good, but this stuff was incredible and perfectly carbonated after a month in the bottle. My house temp runs between 60 - 70 degrees this time of year.
I'm ordering another batch.

My first brew after a ten year break. I have to compliment Midwest on the crush, and ingredients. No sparge problems, perfect crush. Nice full mouthy malty taste, mild hop finish. Beautiful deep caramel color. I am very satisfied with the results.

This brew didn't come out tasting much like bass ale. I am sure it was probably something I did during the brewing process. It tasted much more like a hoppy pale ale. I probably wouldn't brew this one again, but the final product was still pretty good.

Bought this as my first attempt at homebrewing. Let the fermenation temp get away from me the first few days of voracious fermenation (not realizing that the recommended fermentation temp was not the ambient temp, but the wort temp) and the Munton's yeast left a fruity, estery odor behind that never really cleaned up.
That said, fruity essence aside, the flavor of the beer was unaffected and very good. Flavor was close to Bass Ale, but not exact.
To be fair, I will be ordering this kit again because I figure any beer that is still a decent drink following a profound operator error has to be a very good kit.
