Product Rating:

A good book for the beginner to the advanced home brewer. The author discusses how the yeast flavors work with the ingredients, and how to achieve certain flavors. I use this book as a source for wheat beer recipe development. I've also made some of the recipes and they have all been tasty so far.

What a wheat beer really is Review by Farzan

(Posted on 3/8/13)

Product Rating:

The author explains about wheat beers, what to do, what not to do. He gives the history and explains why things evolved as they did. The focus is on understanding the style. There are some recipes too, but not many. To get something out of the book you need to experiment and brew a set of small batches, so you can learn the impacts of the different components (malts, yeast, hops).
A great book for wheat beer aficionados.

Product Rating:

A detailed and long history of how the wheat beer style evolved to what it is today. The author explains some of the differences between using wheat and barley, and gives some recipes.
All in all its a good book, maybe a little long on the history.
