What a mess

Save your money and the mess. This unit was hard to adjust, created a lot of foam when filling bottles, and was constantly leaking and coming out of adjustment. I tried this unit on three different batches, and finally ended up throwing it away.
(Midwest Note: Did you give us a call about your problems? It may have been a problem with your particular filler - we've not had problems with it.)

Excellent filler

The only complaint I have with this filler is the screws and bearings are not stainless steel, and they do rust. I bottled over 1000 bottles with my first one before it froze up and the bearing blew out the top of it. I ran out and got another one right away. So if you are sanitizing with k-meta after washing it ensure you give it another clear rinse. Other than that a wonderful tool.

Save your money

I will say that the concept is great, but the execution is horrible. I purchased this item thinking that I could stand a bottle in my custom holder, adjust the filler for volume, and the filler would automatically shut off when said volume was reached thus allowing me to cork bottles that were ready. Boy was I wrong...
I've had nothing but problems with this filler. As previous people have indicated, the filler is constantly going out of adjustment. Additionally, IT FAILS TO SHUT OFF!!!!
My reasons for making this purchase are a total wash. If you puchase this filler, keep in mind there's NOTHING automatic about it. You definitely have to babysit this filler just as you would a traditional wand filler otherwise you will have a definite mess on your hands...

Works Fine Good Purchase

Just bottled 60 bottles of white wine. Took a few minutes to figure out how it exactly works as mine did not come with instructions. Compared to my other bottle filler this one is considerably better and more efficient. No mess as overflow tubing worked as described. I did have to adjust occasionally but i considered that "no big deal"

Works Well as Vacuum filler

I use this in conjunction with a vacuum pump (attaching the vacuum to the overflow tube) and I get very consistent fills with correct ullage. I was very frustrated with the various manual filler wands (I tried everything) and was very glad to be able to make this work so well. I carefully regulate the vacuum so that it does not fill to fast.

Not a bad alternative to the old bottling wand

I purchased this a year ago and bottled ~900 bottles last year. It worked quite well. Can it be improved? - yes. Can it come with instructions on how to maintain the equipment? - yes. The beauty of this design is no longer hunting for the punt with the bottle filler. When you are doing a carboy at a time, it is hard on the back. Once it is primed and going, you can do a 6 gallon carboy in about 10 min. Priming is tricky, but once you get the method down, not a problem. Just be sure it is rinsed well after you are finished. Until something else comes along that is better, I would buy this item again.

Inconsistent Filling of Bottles

This did not work as flawlessly as some others on a wine forum stated. It would not stop filling and I had a lot of wine going into the overflow container. No matter what setting I adjusted it to, it still overflowed about 70% of the time. Not worth the aggravation on bottling day!

What a POS

What a worthless piece of equipment and waste of money! It doesn't shut off consistantly and I have to constantly adjust the level. When it does shut off, I have to top it off to the level I want it anyway. So, what purpose does it serve?
I ended up using a traditional wand to finish the batch.
Don't - believe me - don't waste your money on this one!

Worked fine the first two times I used it. Recently, it began to fail to shut off or only shut off partially. I overflowed several bottles. Yes, the filler had been thoroughly cleaned between each use. When it works, its great.
