First used 2112 in a Calif. Steam type beer and it turned out better than purchased brews of the same style. I have a basement room that stays 56-58 deg. F all winter long, perfect in my opinion for this particular yeast. I'm into German style beers so decided to try this yeast on a German Amber (Marzen) and a Kolsch bier using 2112 instead of a true lager yeast since my fermentation temp. is so easy to achieve. The beers turned out wonderful, even though not true to style, and exceeded my expectations. Can't wait till next winter!

More like a Hybrid yeast

I got great results using this is the California Steam Partial Mash kit, when fermenting at 64 degrees. I consider this a hybrid yeast, in between ale and lager. It doesn't ferment cold like a lager, and at 70F will give off flavors (fruit esters, phenolic taste ,etc). It did'n attenuate as much as some other yeast, but the taste was good for the style, so I would use it again.

This was the first option I used, after using dry yeast in my first brew. I was a little nervous, as I wasn't sure how it would turn on. But it was very easy to activate and I didn't have any issues at all with this! Will definitely be using again

I don't have a fridge and used this before to make a lager with excellent results. I got great results again with this. It's definitely a lager. Will buy again!

Used this yeast in a Honey Steam kit. I made a yeast starter to get things going like I always do, and it turned out really good.

This yeast isawesome in both ales and lagers. Because of its temperature range you can make either one and have a guaranteed superb outcome.
