prepares brewing water Review by OHara

Product Rating:

It causes the Chlorine compounds to break down and not cause my beer to taste like band aids. I split a tablet into two and crush it and add it when pouring my water into my HLT.

New Jersey brewers need it Review by Redmond

Product Rating:

Half a tablet is good for a 5 gallon all grain batch. One full tablet is good for 20 gallons, and it's fast acting. I just crush it up and add it to my hot liquor tank as I'm heating the water. This container is good for years.

It removes the Chlorine from the water so your beer doesn't takes like band aids.
It doesn't take much. I break a pill in half, and that's good for a 5 gallon brew.

Product Rating:

I have been brewing all grain beer for 2 years now so I decided to try wine making. This product was used in my first 30 bottle batch. Wine tastes great but will have to wait to see if this works when I get to the 30th bottle....CHEERS!

Needed for beer brewing Review by Chris

If your water is treated with Chloramine you need these capsules to break it down.
If you don't your beer wont taste good. I split one capsule in half for 8 gallons of brewing water. I crush it up and mix it in and give it an hour. In this small quantity is adds almost no salts.

Needed where I live Review by Jerry

Product Rating:

The water is treated with Chloramine so I use half a capsule (crushed up) to take care of that. For brewers, I wish the capsules were half the size , so I wouldn't have to split them since they break unevenly.

I stopped using sufides a couple of years ago. Some wine recipies go crazy with them using them at every stage. I "read" they can cause ED problems. I would rather boil than go through that mess.

Must have if you use tap water Review by Aaron

(Posted on 4/20/13)

Product Rating:

After 2 batches that tasted funny, I decided to try one of these to eliminate any chloramine off-flavors. Compared to the first two, it came out awesome. I don't know if it was a fluke, but now I use these with all my tap water.
