I purchased this product because I had a hard time cleaning the top of my carboy and this did nothing to aid in the cleaning. It might be somewhat easier on the bigger areas of the carboy but I can get to them with a brush easy enough.

The first thing I did was to use the "Carboy Cleaner" with approximately 1/2 gallon of PBW solution to clean 3 carboys that had already been cleaned with PBW and a carboy brush. I was amazed at how brown my solution got. I also like the fact that it doesn't scratch the inside of the neck like the shank of the old brush did.

Makes cleaning carboys easier than a standard carboy brush, and then just spend $3.50 for replacement agitator rod blades from Midwest, use the stainless steel rod that comes with the Carboy Cleaner, and shazam!, you've got yourself a wort agitator too! Then you'll have two great pieces of equipment basically for the price of one! Carboy cleaner and agitator for under 30 bucks-

All I can say is WOW! I recently purchased a much more expensive keg, carboy and bucket cleaner not long before I purchased the Carboy Cleaner, and it beats the first one hands down! The thing I love the Carboy Cleaner is the simplicity. Add a few cups of water along with your favorite cleaning product, attach the carboy/keg cleaner to your drill and clean away. Takes less then a minute to clean and about the same to rinse with fresh water! Then the cleanup of the carboy and keg cleaner is a breeze! Just rinse it off with fresh water and let dry. Done. I use WAY LESS WATER than any other method I have tried in the last 3+ years of homebrewing. It saves time, water and my energy!

This was a Father's Day gift from the wife and kids, works great on Glass Carboys and my 6gal Better Bottles too.Much better than trying to use a Carboy Brush on Better Bottles anyway. Less water used is always a plus.

Good, but you still need a brush

This thing saved me a lot of time in cleaning my 6.5 Gallon carboy that was caked with sticky porter. We still had to brush a little, but it was very easy to get the last little bits compared to previous batched with just the brush.
I would buy it again. My friend who also brews came over and tried it too... he went out to buy one.

One word for you "BUY". I love how well and easy it was to clean up some old glass carboys. Had to hold on tight to the carboy using my 18v Dewalt drill. I was able to get all the way to the top without a problem.

I have never had a lot of success using just a carboy brush. With this, there is no doubt the carboy is clean top to bottom. A little over priced, but definitely a good product.

I was having trouble trying to use the standard brush which did not clean effectively, so I browsed the net and found the carboy cleaner. I'll tell you what if you want to get a good clean this is the best choice for that. I cleaned both empty carboys in a matter of minutes. Great product!!!!!! The only thing that I am not sure about is when it is put in it does not expand like it does in the demo's (you-tube and vimeo) and sometimes it is a pain to get out of the hole of the carboy, but other than that I will keep and use this every time I need to clean. BUY IT!!!!! It will be worth it.
