fresh flowers

I got a pound earlier this Summer (2011). The Hops I got came from Ohio, as I recall. Overall, the quality is very good, and aromatics have remained intacted after opening the bag, repacking in double plastic bags and refrigeration. It is not clear when the change to a new crop happens, or when a different supplier is providing the hops to this vendor. Good thing is all I have to do is ask. Midwest has been great. I just hope that I get the same quality next time I order this Cascade leaf.

I bought 6 ounces of these hops from Midwest last year and they were great. They were very fresh when used with great hop aroma. Midwest beats out the competition in pricing and freshness.

Moderately bitter and fragrant like citrus.
I dry hopped with them, and it came out great. They do absorb a lot of beer though.

Can't beat Cascade...

Regardless of your brew, you can't beat a few days or more (LOL!) of dry-hopping with good ol' Cascade Leaf Hops. A true must-have for the homebrewer. Light, aromatic, and never over-powering - the just-right hops for putting that finishing touch on any brew.

The Quintessential West Coast Hop

Not only is this hop absolutely necessary for most West Coast beers, including the amazing Cascadian Dark, it is also a favorite amongst homebrewers for it's versatile taste and bittering properties.
Keep in mind that cascade does have a citrusy taste, although not as strong as you may believe. It is also slightly piney and resiny, but not nearly so much as many other hops. A very clean tasting, refreshing hop, especially suited to dry hopping.

Great to use for dry hop and late hop additions.

I will often use cascade for many pale ales I do. I really like using the leaf hops for late addition hoping often at flame out as well as a dry hop. The aroma comes through really nice.
Just one note, these whole leaf hops will soak up more wort then pellets.

I used these hops in a very light hoppy ale, bittered with columbus and used an ounce of these cascade hops with 5 minutes left in the boil, I also dry hopped with an ounce of these. The beer turned out light and crisp and the first words out of my mouth were grapefruit. Cascade, especailly in leaf form are one of my favorite hops and works well in almost all American styles.

The cascade hops have to be one of my favorite. They're great in just about everything. I'm a fan of using these in IPAs and Pale Ales. They have the perfect balance of bitterness with the citrus smell and taste.

I use cascade in my Pale Ales and IPAs. These were fresh with a great aroma and a citrusy taste. I also like to dry hop my IPAs with this for a week.
