good introduction to the history and diversity of beer Review by Revis

Product Rating:

Its a great overview of how beer is made, beer styles, etc. If you like beer, you will like it even more after reading this book. I found it really easy to read. I like how the book explains how we taste beer, how the palate and sensory organs detect flavor components and aromas.

Not for experienced beer drinkers Review by Sam

Product Rating:

This book is aimed at less experienced beer drinkers. If you are somewhat new to beer tasting you will like this book. If you have read a lot about beer then much of this book is redundant. You will re-read about beer styles. I like the book, and the writing style.

An all around fun book Review by Farzan

Product Rating:

It was fun to read, and I enjoyed the humorous stories and the history. It's a general purpose book that will be of interest to all but the most experienced readers. I learned how tax laws affected how beer was brewed and developed. For example - Lambics - In Belgium there was a tax on the size of the mash tun, but you could have a 2nd tun fro non malted grains, so wheat was a natural (and un taxed) add on. All in all, one of the best beer books I've read.
