A fantastic sanitizer!

At the advice of many brewers, I started using StarSan to sanitize my gear. At first, I was freaked out by all the foam, but I had heard that it's not a big deal. I can attest that it's not. I've used foam filled bottles & carboys, for both beers and sodas, with no detectable taste. I've heard that it basically turns into yeast food when it's neutralized. With good cleaning techniques and a minimum 2 minute soak, I haven't had any problems so far. It's good stuff and I see why people recommend it.

Do not fear the foam! I am now in love with Star San. Easy to use and no-rinse. This makes sanitizing simple. Definitely a great product and great price. I will continue to use Star San from now on to clean my equipment.
I just wish I could find a couple gallons of the stuff! :)

A really great sanitizer, it makes sanitizing a breeze since its "no rinse". It seems to be kind to my skin too. I think I will stick with Starsan for all my brew cleaning needs. Im very happy with it!

This stuff is indespensible in simplifying and speeding up your brew day (racking day, bottling/kegging day...). Buy the small bottle, it will last quite a while. 1 gallon of mixed sanitizer will do your entire sanitizing labor from pre-brew all the way through bottling/kegging of the batch, as long as there is not a ton of ferch on your equipment to begin with.
Number one handy tip: keep a spray bottle of this on hand for quick sanitizing.

Aren't value and price the same thing? I'm referring to the rating system.
Anyhow this stuff is great for cleaning your equipment, It even makes label removal significantly easier if you let bottles soak overnight. The bottle is great because it allows you to measure an ounce of solution by just squeezing it. The 2 minute minimum clean time is great too. I usually soak for about 15, but that's just for peace of mind. The fact that it's no rinse is a big plus too, but I find the foam it leaves very annoying so I tend to rinse anyway. I get the 32 oz bottle. You will be hard pressed to find a better value anywhere. For 18 dollars you can sanitize 160 gallons of water.

Best Sanitizer on the market...

Buy this sanitizer and you'll never go back. Very easy to mix and sanitize within minutes. Someone else suggested filling a spray bottle with some of your excess sanitizer, which I can attest is exactly what I do every brewday. Then I have a spray bottle of sanitizer available whenever I need it for various tasks during the next month. Easy to use, incredible value, no rinse, stays viable in a spray bottle almost indefinitely... it's my first choice in sanitizers.
Note: Someone in earlier review posts refered to "cleaning" with it... this is a sanitizer, not a cleaner. Removal of labels falls under cleaning and will contaminate your santitizer solution. You still need to "clean" your equipment with a good detergent (and remove labels) prior to sanitizing. Read John Palmer's "How to Brew" for details if you want to know why this is important for quality beer. Buy the third edition from Midwest or see the first edition for free at http://www.howtobrew.com/ . I don't own stock in the book or Midwest.
Prost!

This is an excellent no rinse sanitizer. It lasts a long time so I keep some in a spray bottle, very convenient.

I started with the one step in the Mr. Beer kits way back in the day but increased the quality of my sanitation as my brewing methods increased in quality. When I know I will be brewing numerous batches in the course of a few weeks I will reuse the same 7 gallon bucket of Starsan for all my sanitizing needs. Cost per batch is not as "cheap" as some other sanitizers...but then my beer never has an off-taste even if I mess up and use too much.
Easy to measure. No mess. No skin rashes. No discoloration. No off flavors. Keeps for long periods of time.
Only Complaint: I have to skim the foam off the top of my vinator now and again.
I won't use anything else.
