Amber offers excellent protection from light damage

Both Wine and Beer are readily damaged by light, especially sunlight; even a few minutes of exposure is enough to damage wine and beer. A number of well-researched reports conclude that Amber (brown) is the only glass color that offers excellent protection from from light damage. Clear and Blue offer almost no protection from high-intensity light (UV light), and Green offers only minimal protection from high-intensity light.
While more unfortunately expensive than green bottles, amber bottles are a worthwhile investment.

Good to have some.
The Ultra Violet from sunlight can damage wine, so store it in a dark place, like a climate controlled cellar. So you don't really need amber bottle. Even so, these are quality bottles, and I do use them, for when I'm taking a bottle to someones house.

My family has always preferred using the darker color bottles to prevent wine damage.

These are good quality bottles, that like nice. I bought these for 2 reasons:
1 - amber protects against sunlight unlike clear or green bottles.
2 - they can take Zorks. I prefer Zorks to regular corks

The bottles look good, they cork easily, and the amber protects the wine from light. You can use them with Zorks too.
