I use this fitting along with barbed tail pieces for the inlet and outlet fittings on my sanke taps. Although you can also use these for the faucet shanks, I prefer wing nuts for that application as they are a less permanent connection making it easier for frequent cleaning.

I use this hex nut to connect tail pieces to all of my keezer taps. This barbed nut works great and serves as a semi-permanent connection.
