nice way to stock up on fermentables Review by Jeffrey

Product Rating:

Used this for a couple IPA and APA and to have some extra non corn sugar fermentables on hand. Nice way to save money if you extract brew and do your own recipes.

Great deal Review by Scott

Product Rating:

Bought this pack twice now. It's a great deal. Used to make many different types of beers, from pale ales to imperial stouts. Have a case of gold and a case of pilsen in the cellar. Keep them cool and they will last.

Convenient Extract at a Discount Review by John

(Posted on 1/6/13)

Product Rating:

6lb is about the right amount of extract for my scratch made ale batches. Buying by the 6-pack saves money and ensures that I material on-hand if I decide to brew. I'm gluten-free, so my ales are all custom.

The half gallon size plastic containers are convenient to handle. 3 times 1min in the microwave thins the extract for easier pouring (rotated each minute).

Essential for both extract & partial mash brewers Review by Skylab brews

(Posted on 1/14/13)

Product Rating:

This is the cheapest shipped LME I can find on the internets. It makes great beer whether used in all extract or as an extra fermentable for partial mashing. PLUS, the great folk @ Midwest will mix & match a case of Dark & Gold if you ask nicely. Feel free to let me know if you find a better value for LME! npgbrf@mizzou.edu

Good extract at a good price Review by Revis

(Posted on 2/8/13)

Product Rating:

The extract is very good (just made an IPA with it) and the price is excellent. And unlike the big 22 pound containers, this is very convenient to use over a long time, like 6 months.

good product, poor box Review by Jason

(Posted on 3/4/13)

Product Rating:

The LME met my expectations and was fresh. I was a bit upset with the box when I received it. The tape on the box was not strong enough and was ripped in several places. I am assuming this was the shipping company. When I went to pick up the box on my front porch, couple of the bottles about ripped through the bottom. No bottles were damaged during shipping, just felt there is a possibility during shipping for the tape to give and the jugs falling through the bottom. Either way, I would recommend this product.

Best value for the buck Review by Christopher

(Posted on 3/8/13)

Product Rating:

This is the best value for the buck that I have found on the internet. This is a quality product with good flavor and plenty of fermentables. Makes a good batch alone or compliment with one pound of crystal malt, honey, brown sugar and 2 oz of hops. Makes Sam Adams quality for 1/3 the price. Winner.

great base Review by Kevin

i have used this extract as a base for numerous styles, from bourbon stouts, to irish reds and double pale ales....very clean, ferments great, no disappointments. The milk jugs are very useful when pouring into a boiling kettle

a must for extract brewers Review by Adam

(Posted on 3/24/13)

Product Rating:

So I'm stuck doing extract brewing until I move out of my tiny condo in Boston. Which bums me out due to the lack of brewing creativity and COST. Well, this little guy wipes out the second downer of extract brewing, because with this product you get your LME for pretty reasonable prices.

Can't be happier. My extract brewing is now priced similar to my buddies doing all grain. This will be a staple of mine until I get a place with the room for extra equipment so that my murderous wife doesn't kill me before my next batch is kegged out of it's secondary.

Good base and good value Review by Brandon

(Posted on 3/27/13)

Product Rating:

Good taste, fresh, and ferments well. I use this in many of my beers. This barely costs more than the equivilent in base grain, and I don't have to spend time mashing. Its also a good size to work with, and I can heat it by putting it in a pot of warm water.
