This is a great tasting beer. Nice Chocolate taste right off the bat and a slight peanut butter aftertaste. The longer you let it sit the stronger the aftertaste.

This is one of, if not the best beers I have brewed to date. A strong aroma of peanut butter and then a blast of chocolate when it hits the pallet. The aftertaste brings it back full circle with the taste of peanut butter as the beer waves goodbye and happily flows down your gullet. Worth every penny of the price!

Two weeks in the bottle and this stuff already taste GREAT! As the other reviews said, you get blasted with a peanut butter aroma right off the bat, then chocolate followed by peanut butter. But it's smooth and nothing over powers. Found my peanut powder online cheap (rhymes with flamazon) I let mine sit on the powder for 2 weeks. You will have a nice thick mess to clean up in your secondary so make sure you have a power sprayer! Great kit.

The best beer I've ever brewed, possibly the best I've ever tasted! And its around 8% doesn't get any better than that.

It's a surprising beer. It's takes some work and waiting, especially with the powdered peanut butter add.
It's a really smooth stout. Many of the chocolate stouts made by the local Microbrews have a bit of bite, and this recipe really tops them. Nice foamy head, with a rich texture. The foam has strong peanut butter presence which disappears once you hit the smooth chocolate taste. A light peanut butter aftertaste finished the experience.
I have to agree with a previous reviewer that it does taste a bit better as it sits and settles in the glass.
We drink it out goblets for the added effect, really brings out more of the smell and flavor that way.
Also a pretty filling beer. I'd almost use it as an after meal or evening finisher. It's not a "summer beer" that you can drink a bunch of in the evening.

I would agree with most of the comments written in the review. I was sad that Midwest removed the PB2 from the kit but I understand the reason. I used the Chocolate PB2 and thought the beer turned out nice. Just a fantastic kit!
From my experience from this batch, I would recommend using a filter when going from secondary to bottling bucket such as a simple funnel with screen. The pumpkin ale was the only batch that required more filtering than this one. And don't kid yourself about skipping the secondary step, you'll need it to remove that trub.

Best beer that I have brewed and possibly one of the best that I have tasted.
Drank one after a week in bottle and carbonated in a warmer temperature just to try it because this is one beer that I had to try as soon as possible and it was still great.
Excited to watch it mature with more time in the bottle

Takes a little more work and time than other kits I've used, but it's well worth the effort and wait. Needs to be aged at least 3-4 months after bottling.

I brewed this kit with alot of hesitation. Boy was I shocked! This is the best kit I have brewed to date. So smooth and full of flavor. I put this up against some commercial beers in a blind taste test...and this won every time! Don't delay brewing this if you love a good Stout! I got my PB2 from a place that rymes with Flamazon for the best price around.

It seems strange that the peanut butter isn't included, since that's really the point of trying this kit if you ask me. That's why I knocked the value down some, I had to pay separate shipping to get the stuff.
Now, to the beer. Definitely a bit different, but quite good. A pint of it is a meal in itself, or at least a good desert. The chocolate with peanut butter aftertaste is great. This will last quite a while, because again, it'd be tough to drink more than one. But once it runs out I'll make it again.
