I use them to retrieve an inoculum from a culture of yeast by skimming off the top. Standard lab use.
You wont be sterilizing these with your micro torch after using them.

PROS
More convenient than metal loops, I just use it, then throw it away

Good length, not too short

CONS
It only has a loop on 1 end, rather than a loop at each end, of different sizes

Since I work in a lab I have a lot of experience with this. Very convenient for culturing brewing yeast. Just use it and toss it, very easy. I agree it would be better to have 2 loops.

These are really convenient, but you need to buy several of them since they are single use only. If you are doing any quantity of yeast culturing, I suggest you just buy the metal one you can heat and sterilize with each use.
