Good value for a light ale

I mashed this at 154 to 152 degrees for two hours. I boiled the wort for 90 minutes. My original gravity was 1.048. Primary fermentation for two weeks and secondary fermentation for two weeks. My Final gravity was 1.004. A fine tasting beer but a little watery, I suspect more fermentable sugars than expected for this kit. The next time I make this I will mash a little warmer.

Brewed per recipe provided. One of my favorite beers. Clear, white head, nice lacing, lightly hopped. Do not be concerned about the name "bitter" cause it's not bitter in any way. Beautiful golden color. It leaves a cracker like, bread like, biscuit like aftertaste.

Hello. I'm from Ukraine.
This set is my first try for brewing.
Nice & fresh ingredients forgiven all my mistakes.
37 bottles 1/2 L - 12% original gravity.
After sparging the grains was basis for my rye whiskey mash.
Very tasty & aroma beer. Empty goblet had nice fruit & flower aroma after this beer.
Munton's yeast did feculenced beer. Next time I'll try this set with S-04.
Thanks for MWS team!
Sorry my English.

The Marris Otter malt really makes this standout

Marris Otter has a different taste from the usual base malt in most kits. I mashed at 150 for 90 minutes, to make sure i got good conversion. I used the White Labs #005 British Ale yeast

Biscuity

Formulated just right, it's a smooth tasting beer that's pleasant to drink. This style of beer has less alcohol than American brews. It's a little thinner than we are used to, but thats in the style. If you want a little stronger beer, try adding a pound or two of 2 row.

The Maris Otter malt has a more biscuity taste than the Briess 2 row I usually use. Don't be fooled by the "Bitter" in the name, it's not really bitter, not like an IPA. The taste of the grain comes through when using the WL005 yeast.

I threw a line across the divide, brewed this kit up then fermented with Wyeast 1945. Mashed at 153F for one hour with 3 gallons, single batch sparge at 175F strike temp with 4 gallons. 1 hour boil, 1oz EKG at 60m, 1oz EKG at 10m.
It sat for 4 days in primary, hit FG on day 3, cold crashed starting on day 4, bottled on day 7. Tasted the end of the bottling sample and it's by far and away the best beer I've ever made. Bottled this one with 4oz corn sugar. Can't wait to taste this once it's carbed up.

I really enjoyed this one. It's very drinkable and tastes great. I had it in the primary for 2 weeks, secondary for 3 weeks, and 2 weeks to condition and it was definitely worth the wait.
