Great Heater Review by Mike in Kansas

(Posted on 3/23/14)

Product Rating:

I bought this heater to help keep my temperature up since it didn't have a thermostat control I plugged it into a timer like you would use for Christmas lights and a little playing figured out how to keep the temp that I wanted. 30 minutes on and an hour off keeps my temps right where I want them.

Storage of Unit Review by S

A few reviewers have noted the ease of damaging this product. I picked up a sturdy mailing tube to keep mine in. The ease of use more than compensates for it's fragility.

Works very well Review by Billaban

Using one of these for wine making. With a Johnson controller this is working very well on 12 gallons in a 13 gallon carboy. The whole thing is in a insulated enclosure that I built from shop scraps. Ambient temp in room is around 50 degrees and holding 71/72 is no problem. Actually the heater is rarely on.

Works ok Review by Orson

Product Rating:

I've been using it all winter to keep my fermentors warm. I have it running of a temperature controller to keep a narrow temperature range. It doesn't seem that well made and I can see it eventually tearing or cracking.

I've been using it this winter and fall to keep my fermentors warm and it does the job.
It's not durable and I can see it breaking after a year or two of use. Be very careful how you handle it.

Product Rating:

The element is a quality piece of material. It has good connections and a long cord. Seems to be very durable. As with any piece of equipment, you have to handle it with care as to not damage the connections or element.

Works as advertised and is allowing me to brew in the winter. I'm not sure about the quality (laminated heating elements) but let's see how long it lasts.

not durable Review by Dan

It worked fine for me last year. This year I just hooked it up and bumped two carboys together, not that hard, and t cracked some of the wires. If the price was dropped by ten bucks it would be ok,
