Five Star Homebrewer's Kit

I bought this to test out so I could move away from One Step. I was glad I did as it seems to be a better product at really giving my yeast the cleanest environment to work in. Since it says you can do 8 batches, I consider it a starter product since it won't last that long.

I bought this from my LHBS to test out the Five Star products. I've had very good luck using these. PBW cleans extremely well and leaves nothing behind, it gets up the most stubborn yeast cakes. Star San, the sanitizer, is also an amazing product, although it creates a LOT of foam.

This is a must have! My only knock on it is the price but what can you do? I haven't had a sanitation related situation since buying.

Maybe I'm overly cautious (and I probably am) but I don't think this will really work for 8 batches unless you have a really good way to store large amounts of the sanitizer.

I prefer not to move detergent from 1 vessel to another, and risk transferring whatever was in the 1 vessel to the other.

Very convenient kit to have though....

This kit works great and has me confident that my equipment is clean and sanitized.

I may be overly cautious when it comes to cleanliness and sanitizing, but I don't believe that this will last me 8 batches. I will give it 5 batches. Even with that being said, It is still a great kit. You get all you need to clean and sanitize.

This kit has everything you need to get started with cleaning and sanitizing all of your brewing equipment. The sanitizer does foam quite a bit but I found this to be better since you can see that it comes into contact with all surfaces. The best part, its no rinse, odorless and tasteless!

Being a new brewer and knowing that being clean/sanitized is very important I bought this kit thinking it might have more information on how to keep everything clean and sanitized. It does not have much to read on it but the PBW and the Star San sanitizer both work great but I am not sure if I will get the 8 batches of cleaning out of it.

StarSan is a great product. I mixed it with 5 gallons of distilled water two months ago and just reuse it. The PBW does a great job cleaning fermenters. I just dissolve it in the fermenter and leave it overnight in the bathtub.

This is a good deal to get these brewing sanitizers/cleansers. I wasn't familiar with the products yet but this was a good way to try them all and get more experience and practice with them. it made both my brew day and bottle day a breeze.
