Nice Corker

My husband and I purchased this corker for a recent batch of wine. It seems to work very well for small jobs, I wouldn't want to cork 50 bottles of wine at on time with this. :) It might take two people the first few times you use this, until you get the hang of balancing the device on top of the bottle. I did notice that bottles with a more rounded lip at the top were harder to get the cork completely in the neck. We did not buy the recommended synthetic corks for this, but used regular natural cork, it seemed to work just fine. Overall I would buy this again, or recommend it to a beginning wine maker.

I got this after the double handle corker, and it is soooo much better. The other cheaper one rarely got corks in all the way. This one sets the top of the cork about 1/8 inch below the top of the bottle every time! I love it for the price! I have never tried the floor corkers yet though, but have no need to at this point.

Good price, Good value, Fair quality after more use I may improve my opinion on the quality. Much much easier to use than the plunger corker, with a bit of practice its quick and easy to cork bottles and there is no deformation of the top of the cork.
It takes a bit of practice to balance the pressure on the handles and lever to get the cork in all the way at first but after a few it was easily accomplished.

We just went to bottle our wine and the darn thing broke half way through bottling. Thankfully Midwest is sending us a replacement, but we'll be looking at a floor corker for the future.

This corker was difficult but did the job on used wine bottles from store bought wines. When I ordered new bottles they simply would not work with #8 corks. It actually seemed dangerous as the lever would come unscrewed leaving it to fly up towards my body and face

Why buy a pricey one?

I'm a beer brewer who's wife decided she would like some wine. Since most beer/wine equipment are interchangeable all I needed was a corker. I don't even bottle my beer (I keg it) because I hate the process. I went with this corker because it was cheap. To my surprise it worked unbelievable! I can't imagine the corking process being easier than this, even with an expensive model. I used #8 corks and they popped in with ease.

I got it, used it for 2 bottles and it broke on the third.
Store wouldn't return it.
Editor's Note: Give us a call, we certainly would do a return for a product that broke. If you purchased the item in the retail store, you will need a receipt.

Product works great I thought I would need my husbands help to shove the corks in but this product made it easy enough I had no problem.
