I bought this for a cooler mash tun. It is well built and sturdy i.e., wil not colapse under the weight of your grain.

Very sturdy as the other reviewer said. Build quality is good. Has a tough time with pellet hops if you don't whirlpool, other than that I'm very happy with this screen. It's in my brew kettle attached to a weldless valve also purchased from Midwest!

I had this attached to a Weldless Kettle Conversion on the inside of an 8Gal brew kettle and it has filtered out virtually every remnant of the pellatized hops I've used. It struggled with my pumpkin ale, but that's because of the pumpkin and not a defect with the screen. It works great and the 6" is a perfect size for my brew kettle. I do have to be careful when I'm stirring my wort though so I don't run my brewing utensils into the mesh. Although, it seems sturdy enough that it could probably take a minor beating during a typical brew.
The screen was attached to a threaded adapter as shown in the picture but when I tried to unscrew it from the Weldless conversion piece, the filter came off the threaded adapter. It's not a huge issue because now I just 're-screw' it onto the threaded adapter and it holds and filters just fine. I remove it from the threaded adapter to clean and reinstall it for my next brew day. If this happens to yours, be careful because the cut pieces of mesh are SHARP and I can't imagine blood being good for a sanitary brew area.
Because it came off the threaded adapter, I knocked it 1 point in quality, but not because I'm upset with the product. I've worked around it. However, in order for it to be 'perfect' quality, it would have had to not come off the threaded adapter after the first boil.

I picked up two of these bad boys! One for my brew kettle to help cut down on the amount of hops and other particulates that make it into my primary. And the other for my partial mash cooler so I don't have to transfer the grains and can sparge right through the cooler. Nice product for a great price!

I purchased this to install in a 2 gallon Coleman cooler in order to convert it to a mash tun for 1 gallon batches. It fits perfectly into the cooler with a standard cooler bulkhead and works like a charm! As the description says, it's heavy duty and I have no concern that this screen could stand up to a full 5 gallon or greater batch. With the screen installed, I ended up with about 0.2 gallons of deadspace, though with a small cooler, it's easy to flip it and drain out the remaining wort.
I would highly recommend this screen to anyone looking for a mini mash tun conversion project!

I bought a ss false bottom for my 5 gal mash tun cooler and it did not fit, sent it back to NB. Found this screen here at Midwest and brewed a AG batch last night. It worked like a champ,I am very happy. Save your money and buy this instead of a SS false bottom.

Nice, rigid stainless mesh that seems like it'll last. Fit on my kettle outlet valve with the addition of a stainless 1/2" NPT coupler.

I use this inside my brew kettle to filter out everything I don't want in my finished Wort. Filters great, strong, and easy to clean.

Works as advertised. Great for using in boil pot to strain out particulate before a plate chiller. Just make sure your kettle valve is 1/2" female threaded (some weldless valves on the market have a 3/8" connection).
