Hydrometer (Triplescale)

This economical hydrometer reads in specific gravity, Brix/Balling, and potential alcohol. A hydrometer is a very useful tool for figuring out potential alcohol, or if your beer or wine has fermented completely. This is one tool that every beer, wine, or mead maker should have and know how to use. This is the hydrometer included in all of our brewing equipment kits.

These are very fragile. Nearly every experienced homebrewer has broken at least one (and probably has a story to go along with it) hydrometer. It's not a bad idea to order two to have a backup.
