Value yeast Review by Fontack

(Posted on 3/20/14)

Product Rating:

It's reliable and I use it as a back up. If my yest doesn't finish the job I rehydrate some of this to help get a few more points of attenuation. It's also good as a bottling yeast for beers that I've aged and the original yeast is spent.

I have used this Yeast for a few years now on ALL my Beers. This last winter which was pretty rough it kept on working even though the temperature in my shed varied greatly.

Great yeast at a great price! Review by Jeremy S.

(Posted on 3/16/14)

Product Rating:

This yeast has always done very well for me. As the item's description indicates, this yeast performs very well between 64 and 70 degrees. If you pitch the yeast above 70 degrees you definitely lose viability and suffer weak fermentation/carbonation in your brew. I have also always pitched this yeast straight to the fermenter without rehydrating and have never had any problems at all. This is a great performing yeast and the price is even better. GREAT PRODUCT.

Ol' Reliable Review by Simon

Product Rating:

It works just as well if not better than more expensive yeast. It can handle making 9% ales. I do rehydrate in sterilized water before pitching.

Kind of fruity Review by Bolars

(Posted on 12/31/13)

Product Rating:

It makes a lot of fruity esters that may be ok in some beers and not ok in others.
I rehydrate befor eusing and don't experience sluggish fermentations. Attenuation and flocculation are average. When I use it I keep the fermentation temperature down so the beer has less of the fruity flavors.

Very nice Review by Kole89

Product Rating:

This yeast always works great for me, one package per five or six gallons. It is able to ferment a potential alcohol percentage of 10% in about 10 days. Pretty good stuff, works as well if not better than the higher priced yeast.

A good general purpose yeast

Not that impressive Review by Cody

(Posted on 9/5/13)

Product Rating:

I have used this yeast twice and have not been impressed by the flavors. It's hard to explain but the beer just doesn't have anything special going for it with this yeast. I recommend a higher quality yeast such as Safale US-05 - it creates a much more memorable beer!
