First time with all grain brewing and dry hopping. Overall very good! Had a few so far and am very pleased. A different style beer but very good. Definitely worth the purchase.

Really Great Brew

If you're looking for an American Brown Ale recipe, you may not find a better one. With the brown sugar, Summit hops, two late additions of Mt. Rainier, and an ounce of Palisade for dry hopping, on top of more than 11 pounds of grain, it's a bargain. I used the White Labs California V yeast, which really enhances the malty character. It comes with an ounce of Summit hops for bittering. I used a half ounce at 60 and a half ounce at 45 and the bittering was very nice. Definitely there, but not overpowering the malt. It has a great graham cracker, coffee and caramel aroma, with a hint of citrus from the hops. Overall, a great recipe and value.

Good kit

Good taste, nice and malty, with a coffee and caramel aroma.
This is a good kit for new all grain brewers because it's more forgiving of slight mistakes. I added the sugar 5 days after pitching the yeast so they would first eat up the malt. I kept it in the fermentor for 30 days in total, and I dry hopped for the last 5 days. I used the Nottingham yeast, and am satisfied with the taste.

Smooth and Malty

It was pretty good - Dark, bitter, malty, and smooth. Certainly let it age for 6 months since it's a bigger beer. This had a good base of a brown ale with the kick of IPA.. Not for the light beer drinkers.

A variant of an IPA

Good strong smooth brown ale with the bite on an IPA.
Mildly hoppy, with plenty of body and a nice mouth feel. I still prefer keeping Brown Ales apart from IPAs but it's a good kit.
