Good But Could

Good but could use some sort of one way valve on the fluid side. With the co2 connected it will push the beer back into the keg even with using a splitter so it's operating at the same 3 PSI. With a one way valve on the beer side it would reduce foam.
It does work it's just a little more waste.

Much easier than a counter pressure filler

Awesome brew hardware. A bit tricky to use at first, but much easier than a counter pressure filler. If you buy just the beer gun and and have prior set up. You may still need the brass 1/4" NPT X 1/4" flare adapter for connecting to the CO2. The one thing I did not have. Do not cut the beer line down. It is 10' for a reason.

Follow the instructions and you can fill a case without loosing a drop of beer (ok, maybe a couple, but you get the idea). The low Co2 pressure is the trick to low to no foaming (vs using counter pressure). Crazy simple one handed controls makes filling and capping a breeze. I've been using it for years and am delighted with it.

Bought this a few months ago and finally got around to using it yesterday. I like the one handed use and the CO2 bottle purge feature. No over flowing of the bottles or waste like other methods of bottleing. I wish I had used one sooner.

Nothing else like it

If you are brewing 5gals, using a bottling bucket and cane - no, you do not need this. This tool is specifically designed for those who keg, but then want to bottle carbonated brew from keg to growler/bottle as needed. Also, to the last review above - the low ratings are not fair if you were expecting a counter-pressure filler. It is not. But, it does exactly what it says it does, and once you get accustomed to set-up and tear-apart, it is a snap to use, and transfers brews without loss of carbonation and extremely minimal loss of liquid (what's in the hose). You *must* follow instructions - and I *would* recommend getting th e kit if you do not have the excess of parts to put it together yourself. Me, I'm transitioning into nano-brewery, so I have a lot of brass/stainless plumbing, and realized after the fact that I did not need the kit - but I'd imagine most people are not in my position. The above comment about the hose length is spot on... the length is designed specifically to minimize foaming. It also helps to pre-chill bottles, though I found that this is the most forgiving aspect - in a pinch I can use room-temp bottles and see negligible foaming. DO pre-chill brew to at least 40 degrees, DO NOT "feather" trigger (same as with a tap), and DO enjoy! As to cost... if you're complaining about cost, you don't know Blichmann. They use highest quality fabrication for flawless performance. Even if there were other brands on the market, none would perform like Blichmann. Sure, you can "gerrry-rig" a filler set-up, but it won't be the same.

You can use it one handed, and I like the CO2 bottle purge feature. If you follow the instructions you wont lose more than a few drops of beer.

Great for filling bottles from the keg

I brewed my first batch and was discouraged by having under-carbed bottles. So I went straight to kegging from there. I'll never go back to bottling. That being said, my wife wanted to give some of our holiday brew to her coworkers. This only works by giving bottles, so I bought the beer gun. Make sure to check out the accessory kit, since this is not ready to play out of the box. I suppose they do this because they don't know the style of keg you have.
Filling the bottles was a breeze. Cleaning/sanitizing (minus the liquid line) was easy. Set up was a bit challenging.
All-in-all, this was a good purchase. It's a bit pricy, but at least you know your bottles will be carbed properly!

Until you get the hang of it, it can be tricky to use.
It can be used one handed. The ability to purge CO2 is also useful. It would be even better with use some sort of one way valve on the fluid side.

Super easy way to bottle as much or as little as you want from your keg. Just make sure your PSI is set around 5-6.
