Product Details

If you want to make an authentic Dry Irish Stout, then you need to use roasted barley.
Finest malts from the British Isles.

It is made from unmalted barley, making it distinct from Black Malt which is made by roasting malted barley. This creates a dry, roasted flavor with hints of coffee, and produces a beer with with a creamy white to off white head. It gives black color with ruby highlights and the distinct, dry, roasted bitter flavor characteristic of Guinness. It can also be used in very small amounts for color adjustment with little flavor contribution. 600-750°L

Slow to ship...

Order was correct when I finally received it, but it took WAY too long to be shipped...I understand circumstances were unusual, but if you can't fill orders, stop accepting them until you fix your process.

Roasted Barley

Used it in a Honey Stout, tasted great, it was what I was looking for but a little on the strong side for my wife, so I'll cut back a little bit the next time.

Quality stuff

I brew Stouts a few times a year and use a pound of this stuff each time. Nice roasted flavor. It's strong so I only need 12 to 16 ounces for a 5 gallon stout.
