If you are trying to replicate Czech or German beers, this might be what you need. It will add a lot of malt flavor and garnet color. I make doublebock using Munich extract and add up to 2 lbs of melanoidin grain per batch. It does not need to be mashed, simply soak in water overnight, discard the grain, and use the water boil your extracts. (Be sure to get the grain crushed.)
