Works very well Review by Simon

Product Rating:

Others have complained about it falling into the bucket so I always secure it with a strap. It catches a lot of trub and the flow rate slows down at the end so you may want to stir it up a little, or scoop out some of the trub as it's building up.

Easy filter Review by William

Product Rating:

I use sanitized plastic laundry clamps to clamp it to the bucket. One filter inside the other. When it begins to fill and sag I pull off the first one, and the second one is clean and finishes the job.

Keeps cold break out of the bucket Review by Dan

Product Rating:

The filter catches a lot of material that would end up in my fermentor. I use 2 and when the first begins to fill up and block I lift it out exposing the second.

Makes the process better Review by Dobson

Product Rating:

It filters sediment and probably aerates a little when I transfer from the brew pot to the bucket. It catches so much sediment that the center can sag. To deal with that I put on two bags and when the first begins to fill, I pull it off, and let the second one, that was underneath, go into action.

Needs help Review by Koosman

You had better fasten the bag to the sides or it will fill up and fall in. If you use pellet hops they will block up the bag. Its still useful, but make sure you take precautions.

Keep hops and grain out of your fermentor Review by Redmond

Product Rating:

These bags work great, just stretch it over your bucket and it will remove a lot of the particulates. It will catch a lot and start to sag under its own weight so what I do is use two bags, and remove one after a couple of gallons, letting the remaining one catch the rest.

2nd line of defense Review by William

(Posted on 9/19/13)

Product Rating:

I use this bag to keep what ever I can out of the fermentor. Be it some hops clumps or break material or sediment, anything I can do to help keep the final wort entering my fermentor clear is worth it. And these bags do work because they are always coated with stuff and keep that out of my beer.

Bucket Filter Review by Bob

(Posted on 7/11/13)

Product Rating:

Despite all efforts to eliminate the trub getting into the fermenter, invariably some will get in there. I know many people say, "It's homebrew, don't sweat it!!" The better the wort is going in, the better the beer is coming out at the other end. I use these filters on every brew. These filters work very well as another line of defense to keep most of the bad stuff out and they are re-usable with minimal clean-up. Take care to hang on to the edges though, especially if it's a hoppy beer. Despite the use of hop boil bags, the filter elastic can give way and let the whole thing fall into your wort. Otherwise, great product.

does a great job Review by Will

Product Rating:

It does a great job filtering sediment and keeping it out of my fermentor. I tie it down with a cord so the weight of the wort doesn't cause it to fall in. If you don't clamp it down, you will be sorry.
