Oatmeal Stout Beer Recipe Kit

This Stout has more body than our Irish Stout with a smoother, slightly sweeter flavor that’s slick in the mouth. A hint of chocolate and oat texture makes this a favorite. This classic stout flavor leaves you wanting more.

This one is great. As the other reviewers said an oatmeal flavor off the front and a little chocolate taste in the end. Even my wife liked this one and she only drinks coors and bud light.

This was my first brew ever, and I accidently added the corn sugar while it was in the boiling process. Thankful for a friend who brews his own beer, I was able to get some corn sugar for the bottling process. Brewed it back in October and shared it with friends and family this holiday weekend and have received nothing but great reviews, even with extra sugar! It turned out and I'm pleased! Happy Holidays everyone........

More like a brown with the dry yeast. Review by MyBrewShop

(Posted on 1/20/10)

Product Rating:

I brewed this with the Munton's dry yeast and it was a mistake. It turns out more like a brown ale than an oatmeal stout. To be sure it wasn't just me I took some bottles to my brew club and had (2) BJCP certified beer judges tell me what they thought the style was and they both said brown. I also had our Brewer of the Year taste it and he agreed. He told me it was probably the dry yeast that gave it the brown flavor and that I should use the liquid yeast next time. Don't skimp on the yeast. Made a decent brown though.

Nice base line Review by Ironhoist

Product Rating:

I am a big fan of oatmeal stout and wanted to make my own. I had never made one so wanted to try the kit first. It turn out good! Nothing to complain about but nothing to get to excited over either. But everyone who tried it liked it and it gave me a nice base line to start from for my very own Oatmeal Stout.
