Octane IPA ALL-GRAIN Kit

This kit is simply fun to make and produces a great beer. I have no idea how "Authentic" the kit is to the style but everyone who has this beer wants one more and then some more to take home. The oak chips are an extravagant addition and overwhelm the taste for the first month. If you can wait I recommend bottle conditioning this brew for at least a month. I think I will "toast" the oak chips the next time I make this kit.

I've ordered this kit many times now. It's fantastic! Great IPA, and the oak gives ita bit more bang! You really need to let this one age for about two months in bottle/keg to really get the best flavor from it, or the oak will overpower the taste. But after about 2 months, the oakiness fades to the background and you have a great beer! I'll be ordering this again and again!

this was my 2nd all grain brew, not a super hoppy result but WoW!
everyone loved it.the oak flavors came on at first then mellowed a bit.

Good beer, with a nice oak flavor. I enjoyed using the oak, it added another dimension to the flavor. It seems the trick is to gauge when to remove the oak to find the ideal spot where it's just right.

This kit requires slightly more skill because of the oak chips. Give it a couple of months to age. It smells wonderful and taste good. It's complex and strong, but maybe not so hoppy for an IPA.

Like other people have said. You will need a couple months to age this one. I thought it was a little light on the hops for an ipa.

I didn't use the chips,they don't seem right for an IPA. Not as hoppy as I was expecting, but it could have been the hops bag I was using. A good tasting brew, I'd drink it again.
