I dont konw what I did without this product before! With now oxygenating my wort before I pitch my yeast I have noticed much quicker and smoother fermentation. Also it was very easy to get the oxygen tank and cheap it was roughly 12 dollars and you can aquire them at any local hardware store.

It works but can clog

0.5 microns is very small, it will clog easily. You have to really clean this well. After using it I place the stone in boiling water, then in Star San for a while. I also let it sit in Star San before using it.
The big advantage is these small Oxygen bubbles are more likely to dissolve into your wort, rather than just rising out.

This works great. You only needs about 15 seconds in your primary before pitching the yeast.

This thing really adds the oxygen to the wort. Sure beats stirring.

Helps Attenuation

This thing is pretty slick. Since I started using it I've noticed the lag time of fermentation is shorter, fermentation time is quicker and the beer attenuates better. I give all my beers from 1.040-1.065 an O2 shot for one minute; anything higher gets 90 seconds.

Great Investment

Price might be on the high side, but the results are worth it. I hit all my beers with about 30 seconds of pure oxygen with this device. Small oxygen tanks can be purchased at the hardware store and connected. No more shaking the carboy to add oxygen. Ive noticed my initial fermentation is quicker, and more violent when i add oxygen.

Pretty good

I have noticed lower lag time, but no change in attenuation. Mine hasn't clogged up or anything. I boil before use (sometimes), starsan (everytime), then starsan again after use. Oxygen tanks are 10$ at my home depot, and I got 5 (5 gallon) batches out of it. I store the stone in a ziploc. I couldn't get the tubes off the filter, so I just store the rest all attached.

For High Gravity beers
Review by Ed

I use this when brewing big beers, so I don't get stuck fermentations. Big beers are harder on the yeast, so I use this to Oxygenate the wort to higher levels than just shaking will accomplish. The 0.5 micron scintered stone makes smaller bubbles that helps the pure Oxygen to dissolve in the wort. This is superior to other systems that use 2 micron stones.

For big beers

My higher gravity beers didn't always complete their fermentation, and ended up sweet and over carbonated. Since I've been using this I've been getting better attenuation. Its pretty easy to use, but you need to clean it well. Use a rubber glove so you don't touch the tiny holes.

since i started to use the oxygen system and yeast nutrients i had to switch from a air lock to a blow off and lowered my FG. recommended for every batch of beer and wort starter
