I just add some to my ale pail with the empty bottles and a day or so later, the labels come clean off.

Why did I wait so long? Review by BG

I've been homebrewing for years and just tried PBW for the first time. Wow, what a great product! It cleaned off the crusty krausen on my Better Bottle without any scrubbing and dissolved the beerstone on my kettle that had withstood every other product I'd used on it. I wish I'd tried PBW sooner--I would have saved myself a lot of time and elbow grease.

I use PBW on my kegs, my kettle and my fermenters. Normally I use 1 tablespoon per gallon with warm water and let it sit for about an hour.
Just make sure you rinse well and you're fine.

I mainly bought this to clean my kegging equipment but I quickly learned that it's great at cleaning just about anything with some build up. Five Star is a great brand and they make awesome products and I have never had an issue with their products. Would buy again!

A great cleaner, not strong smelling, easy to use Review by Sam

I just add two tablespoons per gallon of water and the solution is pretty strong. Great for removing labels from bottles. Just fill a bucket with some hot water and add 2 TBS per gallon, immerse the bottles in the water for about 10 minutes and the labels float right off. Cleans the yeast sludge from the bottles with minimal brushing and rinse clean easily. This stuff is a must have for cleaning needs.

Good cleaner for kegs and carboys Review by Nathan

Product Rating:

I have used a lot of different cleaner over the years. This is the best I have found. I honestly, rarely if ever, have to take a brush to my glass carboy with this stuff. The only hangup I have is that it takes 1oz per gallon or something like that. So on my walmart Kitchen scale, trying to measure out a few ounces is difficult. I like it better when they use a teaspoon or tablespoon measurement. But maybe I should just get a better scale. Even the toughest stuff, if soaked in PBW, will come right off.

No carboy brush needed Review by HogBrewery

Product Rating:

Just like the title says. PBW will remove the krausen ring even after a very active fermentation. Just fill the carboy up and put in 1 Tbs per gallon. Let it sit for about an hour, dump and rinse clean. PBW is now my go-to cleaner. Remeber that it's only a cleaner and not a sanitizer
