A blend of the brewers! Midwest and Peace Coffee (www.peacecoffee.com) have teamed up to create this caffeinated stout. Peace coffee is a local to Minneapolis micro-roastery that deals in shade grown organic coffees, and the quality of their beans meets our brewing standards. Combine your favorite beverages and have this one Sunday morning with the paper! The key to a great Java stout is great coffee, so we selected to use 4 oz. of Whole bean Nicaraguan full city roast that can be percolated, or if possible, cold pressed, then added to the secondary fermenter. Our ingredients for this recipe include 6 lb. Dark liquid malt extract, 8 oz. Chocolate Malt, 4 oz. Flaked Barley, 4 oz. Caramel 60L, 4 oz. Roasted Barley specialty grains, 1/2 oz. Challenger hops, 1 oz. Tettnang pellet hops, priming sugar and muslin bag.
