These caps seem to be a stronger metal than the plain gold caps. I don't know if they seal any better or not. But they add a nice touch for my beer. An extra buck and a half for almost 3 batches isn't going to break the bank.

My friends find them cool in a patriotic way or cool in a dorky, ironic way. This cap will certainly stand out.

I originally bought these to cap off my 4th of July American Amber last year. But then I found out they are made of a thicker metal than other caps. This makes them fit tighter in the bell of my capper which in turn gives a much better seal.

I have thought about buying different colors of the same cap to make batches easier to distinguish from one another. But I like that American flag on every beer. These do cost a little more but I learned the hard way not to skimp on my caps. I bought 2 pounds of caps from another site. No matter which of my cappers I used I could actually turn them after they were crimped if I wrapped them with a paper towel for a better grip. As a result my beer has not carbonated as well and I am sure it will oxidize much sooner. I ruined 2 batches with those caps then reordered these caps. I put too much work into my brews to have them ruined to save a buck.

There is nothing plain about this cap! Great touch, noticable as soon as you open the fridge. American homebrew with an American symbol!

I bought these to cap my "Liberty Cream Ale". My friends want to drink this beer based on the cap alone, these are awesome! Perfect way to differentiate a batch if you don't want to make labels.

Recently used these caps and found them to add a great touch to the beer. No beer that I share goes opened without a commet.

I love the American flags but I wish there were more options. Different flags for beers that you brew from different regions of the world would be awesome.
