Polar Ware Stainless Steel Brewing Pot - 10 Gallon

I wrestled with the cost of a new brew pot for a long time because I wanted one with all the bells and whistles...ball valve, thermometer, sight gauge...in the end, I went with this plain-jane from Polar Ware and I couldn't be happier.

*No ball valve/thermometer means very easy to clean
*No thermometer means wort chiller fits easily
*Much less expensive than "deluxe" model
*Made in USA

Coupled with a 12" stem thermometer, this is the perfect boil kettle for my five gallon batches.

I like this pot

This was the first (and only) brew kettle I have purchased. I knew I didn't need all 42 quarts right off the bat, but I had brewed a few times with my friends and knew this would be a life-long hobby, so I wanted something durable enough to last many years, and big enough to handle larger batches if I decided to up my capacity.
Let me say that a good SS brew kettle is an investment that every brewer must make. No matter how broke you are (and believe me, I am BROKE--grad student with LOTS of loan debt) you need to just bite the bullet and shell out the extra cash for a good, sturdy brew kettle. I was not disappointed by this one. The kettle itself is very solidly built and I have used for 6 all-grain batches so far. It handles the heat of a turkey fryer burner admirably and I have noticed no warping, denting or staining. The lid does not seem to be quite as solidly built, however. It doesn't seem to fit perfectly onto the kettle. This critique is somewhat moot, though, considering I never use the lid during brewing except during wort chilling.

Overall, a solidly built and very quality product.

Sturdy, well made and it is going to come in handy for canning too.

This is a high quality stock pot, and useful outside of brewing. My friend is a cook and complemented me on this purchase. You will never have a boil over. Durable and easy to clean. Can be used for cooking too. You can add a ball valve and thermometer and sight glass if you want to.

Well made in the USA product. This pot heats up quickly with no hot spots. Good quality stainless that cleans up with little effort. I think this pot with 42 Quart capacity is a good choice for a five gallon batch. I only move the pot off the stove when adding liquid malt and then cool and siphon into a 6.5 Gal. carboy.

I bought this pot for my first gallon batch and love it. The extra capacity is helpful and it just fits under my microwave hood. This pot is high quality and well made.

Although this kettle definitely takes up a lot of space on your stovetop it is definitely one of the lowest priced brew kettles I've found with great quality.

I like the finish of this kettle, the lid is nice with the recessed handle. For the price however i think it should have a multicore bottom. The handles are a good size and positioned well, however i would like to see rivets or true welds securing them. The spot welds are nice for cleaning but weak in comparison. Not something you want to have in the back of your head while carrying 5 plus gallons... I think for the price midwest has better options.
