comes with SS ballvalve, easy to find MPT attachment for your application. can take a second MPT installation [ships with a plug], which sits right above the 3 gallon mark. make sure you use PTFE tape to create solid seals, as with any MPT fitting.
the handles do not get hot directly from the kettle sides - but in my burner setup, they get heat from the surrounding air but are touchable at the end of boil or mashing. the lid IS recessed, so you have to be careful when you pick it up but burn yourself once, never do it again..
the SS itself is good quality, strength-wise. the weight listed is 60#, which seems very high to me. perhaps including the false bottom (separate purchase), ball valve, and lid.
i have used it for a few months now and ran over a dozen mashes/boils through it - great purchase. highly recommend to buy once and be done!

I use this as a Brew/Mash kettle. It works great. I have the false bottom and a bazooka tube as well. It's a little pricey but built to last. Great addition to my brewery.

I think this is better than a Blichmann Boilermaker. It costs far less and has a thicker bottom. It's very solidly constructed, and the accessories are very good. The ball valve is good, I don't need a thermometer, or sight gauge. This is just a solid all around brew kettle.

Great addition to my brew supplies. My only complaint is there are no measurements on the kettle.

I went back and forth about spending the extra $$ and going with Blichmann but finally decided to save my money and go with this Polarware. Glad I did. I replaced my old, aluminum turkey fryer pot with this one and haven't regreted it. I like that it has a port for a thermometer if I want to add one in the future (which I will eventually). I've brewed about 20 batches on it and am very pleased with the results.
